Bicentennial Eagle Emblem T-shirt

Bicentennial Eagle Emblem T-shirtFor independence day, we thought we'd feature one of the more unique patriotic designs we've run across - no typical stars and stripes in red, white, and blue. This design is a unique vintage American Eagle design from . The great thing is that this t-shirt will still look cool after all the hotdogs have been eaten and all the fireworks are over.

Believe In Yourself T-shirt

Believe In Yourself T-shirt"Love Yourself; Believe In Yourself; Find The Spirit Within and Your Dreams Will Come True." Well, certainly isn't very subtle, but they do live up to their shop tagline, "Positive Apparel & Gifts for Positive Attitudes"! Luckily, I think they stop just THIS side of smarmy, and there are no cute cartoon puppies or kittens or rainbows, just a few tasteful angel illustrations here and there.

Anti Priced T-Shirt

Anti Priced - Individual Not For Resale

From the folks at , comes this clever t-shirt, "Anti-Priced - Individual Not For Resale". It's kind of deep, but with two channels, the pun, and the original message itself, so it deserves double points - LOL. And as a bonus, the shirt is ring-spun cotton, that really SOFT kind of t-shirt, and black!

Khaaaaaaan! T-shirt

Khaaaaaaaan! We thought about doing this t-shirt ourselves, but Glarkware already did it, and quite nicely too! Even if you're not really an old-series Star Trek fan, you've probably seen The Wrath of Kahn, and having seen it, you probably have that image of Captain Kirk's primal scream permanently impressed on your visual cortex. On this shirt's web page, I also like Glarkware's salute to other terrific yells in media history, such as "Mendozaaaaaaaa!", "Steeelllllaaaaaaa!" and so on.

Fall of the Giant Orange Fish

Fall of the Giant Orange Fish
It makes you smile and tells a story. A very strange story. A story of a giant orange fish's gruesome end. On land apparently. I didn't think army guys were trained for this kind of situation, but I was quite mistaken. *grin* (Click here for a close up shot of the design.)

Brainheart T-shirt

BrainheartI'll let the people from Geeklove.com describe this design: 'Delightfully obscure, this design is a graphical homage to the synergy between the heart and the mind -- the connection not made by enough geeks.'

i/8 - I Overate T-shirt

T-shirt TitleThe proud nerds at, well, Proud Nerd are responsible for this creation. Of course, I have to admit that I am also probably a proud nerd, at least in spirit, because this shirt made me guffaw in a very snortful way. Radical -1/64 is on the front, and the quasi-phonetic translation of "I overate." is on the back. Get it? *grin* If you don't, don't worry about it - you're just probably one of the 'cool' kids.

Blue Turtle Studios T-shirts

Blue Turtle T-shirtDragonfly T-shirtI couldn't decide between the turtle and the dragonfly - I like all of the colors and the layered paper look of each (each of these t-shirts was made using Blue Turtle Studio's hand-made card designs). The t-shirts come in either unisex and scoop neck style, in white, and you can tell them whether you want the design on the front or the back. Nice!

Celestial Moon & Stars T-shirt

Celestial T-shirt

This design was just very simple and lovely to look at - loved the movement of the swirling clouds within the faux stained glass framework/look. Elegant!

Whistling Frog, Bermuda Stamp T-shirt

Whistling Frog, BermudaI had a tough time deciding on just one t-shirt to feature from the Going Postal website. They have hundreds of t-shirt designs, all postage stamps from around the world. This one is a 'Whistling Frog' stamp from Bermuda and looks both exotic and summery in it's green coloring. Anyway, if you have a few hours, stop by their website - see stamp art from around the world, and get a chance to wear it too.

Carousel Tiger Ringer T-shirt

Carousel Tiger T-shirtOjai, California artist Mary Ogle has an amazing artistic style that brings layers upon layers of subtle textures and colors to her designs. I was especially taken with this t-shirt of a carousel animal, a tiger actually - there's something mystical about it, as if it might shake off its inanimation at any moment.

Overall, she seems to be particularly gifted with animal images (although she has a lot more that's also excellent!), so stop by her eVisionArts shop if you're a critter fan, or want to browse through her large collection of products.

(Not Quite Normal) Pickle Face

Pickle FaceWhat you're looking at is pickles on peanut butter. This design is just weird for weird's sake, something of which I highly approve. Of course my German heritage has me hoping that they are actually eating their creations and not (gasp) wasting food.

Ricky Ravioli T-Shirt

Ricky Ravioli - Fish Pie

I was happy to find Fish Pie, a site that sells weird and funny t-shirts that AREN'T also considered 'offensive' (they also have fish and scuba designs). This shirt design is Ricky Ravioli, a public service announcement from your favorite pasta pal, reminding us, "Don't Stick Your Head in the Toaster. Remember, it's better to be safe than to be not safe!" How can you argue with that? I also thought their design featuring the bench for sale was very amusing, as well as some others. Oh, and remember - eat your vegetables!

Where the HELL are my Penguins? Tshirt

Where the HELL are my Penguins??? T-shirt
This t-shirt design is from our Out of Context Quotes site. Although the quote is pretty funny by itself, "Where the HELL are my penguins?" (well, in an out of context kind of way), that quote with the image of a bunch of penguin-less bowties laying around just cracks me up everytime I think of it. Would be a great Linux-ish t-shirt to wear if you work at Microsoft - LOL!

Green Kimono (Fox Maiden)

T-shirt Title There's an elegance to this design that really struck me, the facial expression of the Fox (or Kitsune which roughly translates as fox spirit) and the combination of colors which can be hard to see on this small t-shirt image. You can get a better view of it here by looking at the poster print.

The artist, Maryn Grey, has a nice selection of celtic and fantasy designs, including a whole series based on the Oz books. She works in oils and woods, as well as digital art. I highly recommend visiting her site.

Deep Something T-shirt

Deep Something by William Vandenberg

I'm not sure how I ran across this t-shirt, 'Deep Something' by William Vandenberg, as I tend to lose myself in clicking links sometimes, but I'm glad I found it. There's something about this abstract work of art that really speaks to me although I'd be hard-pressed to specify WHAT exactly, and I liked how organic it looked on the stone green t-shirt.

Lets All Go On The Road Less Traveled T-shirt

Let's All Go On The Road Less Traveled'The Retrovert' features the art and oxymoronic mind of Bradley W. Schenck... 'Non-Conformists Union Local 404 presents - Let's All Go On The Road Less Traveled' This is such a clever t-shirt idea (the back sports the Non-Conformists Union Local 404 Logo as well), and such a slick graphic design overall! And after you visit the site and read the 'history' of the Non-Conformists Union, you'll want to look up your local chapter and become a Non-Conformists Activist, just like the rest of us.

Not the Real Dread Pirate Roberts

Not the Real Dread Pirate Roberts

"He wasn't the real Dread Pirate Roberts either." I just had to laugh when I saw this design, being a big 'Princess Bride' fan, I was feeling fine. "Stop the rhyming now, I mean it!" - "Anybody want a peanut?"

Ladies Bowling Retro-Vintage T-shirt

Pink 'Weathered' Ladies Bowling T-shirtWhen I saw this design, I was reminded of when my mom used to bring my sister and me with her to her women's bowling league at her local club. We used to hang out in the women's locker room (which also doubled as a storage room, and had a lot of carpet rolls for some reason) and look at all the cool bowling balls - women's bowling balls were allowed to be colorful and swirly unlike the matte black of the men's bowling balls. Anyway, I thought this design was just perfect, especially on a pink shirt!

Autumn Leaf Watercolor T-shirt

T-shirt TitleOkay, I'm a sucker for leaves as subject matter, and also a sucker for more 'loose' style watercolor paintings - this shirt covers both bases quite well. I also like how the rectangular shape of the watercolor paper (background) is only vaguely implied, and you can see where brush strokes have veered out of bounds. The artist is Linda Morrill-Sterritt, and her shop, Watercolors by Linda Morrill-Sterritt, is just that, with a variety of different subjects; stop by and check it out.
